Choo Choo. Watch out!

We finished the basement. It now needs furniture. The kids are loving the empty space. They get to play with the train set. Its been in storage for so long it's like new again. I have such funny children. They were putting their heads on the track and letting the train run into them. They seamed surprised the first time it hit them. It really did hurt.

A night to remember

This was a while ago. June 12th. I still wanted to post it. We had a great game. Great company. The best seats in the house. We sat even with the players & we were sitting with the owner of the Rockies. This is not a zoomed in picture. that is how close we were.
I was super excited that my dad came from California to join in the fun. It was my 2 favorite teams. The one I grew up with. Seattle. and the one I love now. Denver. I was more then excited when I found out that Jr. was back on the seattle team.

It took them till the last pitch of the game to put him in. I didn't really care who won. I would have been happy either way. We watched both Friday and Saturday's game. The Saturday's game was up in the suite. Not this close. Colorado Rockies won both games. GO ROCKIES!

A day in the park

Today was a hot day. It would have been great to go out on the boat. Abe had to work a double though. So I decided to take the kids to a new park. I am finding all sorts of good ones through friends. It was another good one. I only wish the little pond was not so close. The kids would go down by the water to catch all sorts of creatures. Including a big bull frog. I worried the whole time that some one was going to fall in. I know. Kind of over protective. But why wouldn't they stay where I could see them? Its not like there was nothing to do.
They could spin each other.
Play under the water tower or run through the different things. They also had a whole nother not water park to play in.
Either way. We had fun. Got real thirsty. A few sunburns, Built up an a hungry tummy. I was ready for nap when we were done. I think the best part was being able to come home to nice cool house. It sure is nice having AC. I don't know what it is with people in Colorado. Most will just suffer through the summer. YUCK!! I've done that many times and I am DONE WITH THAT!

It has been a good summer so far. I can't believe how fast it is going. I finally got my camera out this week to take some pictures of just our normal things. Like Cassidy and Mattie driving in the tall weeds watching the wishes all blow away. Then taking it in the grass and popping wheelies. I thought that would have been more of a boy thing. It was funny to watch. Cassidy sitting back as far as she could. With her butt hanging over the seat. Then Mattie would suddenly give it gas and sure enough, They would pop up.

Last Saturday on our way home we got to watch a firework show. The kids loved it. There favorite was when they made a smiley face. This of course prompted our own fireworks. Nothing big like that. But still a lot of fun. I wish I would have got the camera out. But I was having too much much fun throwing poppers at Abe's feet and trying to get away form him throwing some kind of Dragon Egg at mine. We thought we bought enough for 2 nights but under estimated. In fact. I have heard every day since from the kids about how we need to get more. I keep putting them off however. In just a few days we will be flying to Cali for the 4th of July. It will be a lot of fun. We can't wait. But no fireworks are allowed in the state or on the plane. So too bad kids.

Tornado Seasion

Yesterday I heard about a tornado that hit in Aurora. More specifically, Southland Mall. My Favorite mall of all time. I miss it. I was so sad when I looked at pictures. I kept saying  things Like "No, Not Red-Brick Pizza. I loved it." and "Oh Man, Not that!" I have now lived in Colorado for 9 years and have been lucky to not ever get close enough to see one with my won eyes. At least, not until Today. The day we closed on our house last year there was one close to it. But we were still in Denver at the time.
Today Cassidy had an appt. with her dad the Dentist. She gets better every time. I was very proud of her. The boys did great too. Although all they had to do was wait quietly. After she was all done, I took them to the toy store to get a prize. The boys only got a small one of course. We were on our way home (only 1 block from the toy store) when I heard THAT sound. It is very unmistakable. It makes your heart drop when you hear it. It only took me like .02 seconds to know what it was for. A TORNADO! My eyes went right up to the sky in front of me and there it was. A twister in the sky. I looked to my right to see everyone at the gas station taking pictures of it. I then realized that it was not touching the ground yet and that my light was green and I needed to go. So my first thought of safety was Abe. Lucky for me his office is  only 3 blocks away. I was a long 3 blocks though. We went inside to wait it out. It never did touch down. Abe decided since I was there to clean my teeth. Next time I 'll take my chances with the Tornado though. A cleaning turned into a filling. I Hate getting numb. Now that the numb has worn off I can say he did a good job. It feels good and I am better off. It turned into a day of lot os surprises. Not at all what I expected.
