John learning to skate

Luke has been learning to a lot of new things. This of course makes John want to learn too. I bought John this skate board last year for his birthday. Although they would get it out from time to time. He never took the time to learn until now. Look at him go. He likes to start in the garage because it goes down hill. Just before he gets to the bottom where the bump is, He get off. He did crash once and learn his lesson.

Then he pulls it back to the top of the hill and starts all over again.
after a while he starts get brave and go farther.

John is so funny. When I ask him to smile He always makes funny faces. This time I said show me your teeth. THis is what I got.

Funny thing is , I don't see the teeth.

Making our jam

Since I can remember, My family has always had homemade jam. It tastes the best. I have early memories of all the stirring involved. Even some not to clear memories of picking the strawberries at a farm. I am glad to pass this on to my kids. It is so easy and fun to do.
My kids are all very good pickers. It does not take us long to pick 2 flats. Our favorite place to go for this in Berry Patch Farms.
After the picking we get to stick around for other fun. They always go over and say hi to the live stock.
I am told this pig is called Bacon Bits. He is HUGE!
Abe wanted me to show a little of how we do it. It is very simple like I said
It would be nice if we had a family secret. But we don't my mom always follows the direction in the box of sure-jell. It's the best. WHy change it?

2 flats of strawberries gave us a lot of jam. Enough for just over a year. Depending on how much we use it.

Corn, Corn, Corn.

We went to the church farm. It only took us about 45 minutes to pick about 150 ears. It went crazy fast. Luke found this one that had 3 on 1. Funny.
Abe showed them that fresh corn tastes great. After that they weren't much help. Abe did most of the picking.

There was this little bridge we had to cross. The kids played a game off dropping things in on one side and see what comes out first on the other.

Like I said, We picked a lot. This was our first year of Blanching corn. We will see if we do it again next year. At least my freezer is full of good corn and lost of jam.

Snow inside

Surprise! Abe Got his Goose in the mail. It is big. 5 feet wing span. The box was filled with packing peanuts. What kids would leave that alone?
It was a HUGE mess. So many peanuts on the ground they made snow angles.
Then they decided to bury Luke & John.
John decided that was boring. He got out and helped Cassidy. It did make it go faster. You can see Luke is almost covered. It just is not enough though. They wanted more.

Where did Luke go?
Then they started jumping in to the box. Why she went head first I don't know.
Its been a while. A lot is happening around here. I have some great pictures to post. So decided to start with the newest and go backwards. So this was Monday. We had a great family day. Luke had the most fun with the guns. Teaching them all the rules young.
This gun here Abe got from his grandpa. It is perfect for little boys.

This one is Abe's new one. It looks cool. Is fun to shoot. But VERY heavy.
For those who have not heard yet. We made the Announcement that Miller Baby # 4 is on its way. Due in May.

happy to be back in school

It is now 2 days. I'm am happy with how smooth everything is going. The kids love their new classes. Making new friends. Cassidy is happy to still have some friends from last year too. John is now in Mrs Karen's Class. He finaly has enough hair and thanks to Cassidy has decided it must be in a mohawk.
Luke is now in Kindergarten. We love his teacher already. He came home yesterday and told me he wasen't scared of kindergarten any more. Then today the first thing he told me was that it was even better then yesterday. He loves school and can't wait to go back tomorrow.
Cassidy decided to go with the star backpack. Thank you to everyone who helped her decided. I didn't know it was such a hard choice. My little girl is in 2nd grade. Yikes.
Today was John's first day. He only goes 2 days a week. He didn't want me to leave him alone. But I'm sure he didn't notice when I was gone. He is such a little monster and picked out the perfect backpack.

When I wen't to pick up Cassidy after school. They were on a short recess. I was happy to get a good picture of her with her friends. They were all just sitting there on the bars monkying around.

When we had family visit. I found this at a store. Its been a while since we have done it. My kids have never seen it. So I got it. Abe and Andy look scared. Its just soda.

We did a lot of boating. Always fun and relaxing. We took them to different lake for fun. It was nice and relaxing just swimming and sunbathing. The kids swam to the rocks to explore.

I finally after how many years. Got to learn how to surf. I am usually the driver while Abe teaches everyone who is on our boat how. Boy was I missing out. I loved it.

Another day going out. Its too bad it was sunny. The picture didn't turnout good. But I was happy to have to warm sun. We had Grandpa Charlie, Grandma Deby, Laura, Nick, Liz, Andy, Cassidy, Luke, John, Me & Abe. We filed out boat. When we added the water sack we had a big wake for surfing. Abe loved it.
